OUR PHILANTHROPY
Phi Sigma Sigma’s twin ideals are the brotherhood of man and the alleviation of the world’s pain. These are ideals that our chapter holds dear in our heart.
The Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation’s cause is School and College Readiness. Our national philanthropic partner is The Kids in Need Foundation.
We focus on donating backpacks, pencil cases, and other school supplies, as well as providing inspirational messages and reading to students in local Title 1 Schools.
Our current Title 1 School we are partnering with is Timber Grove Elementary School!
We have also participated in walks for Breast Cancer Awareness, The Maryland Food Bank, the Ronald McDonald House, Paul's Place, and First Fruit Farm with Phi Mu Delta.
OUR LARGEST PROJECT
One of our largest returning fundraisers is our Trivia Night event! This fundraiser was started to raise money in order for the Zeta Chi chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma to sponsor a classroom at a local Title 1 School and purchase the school supplies needed for the school year, as well as make donations to The Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation.
The event has sisters reaching out and creating partnerships with local businesses to create prize baskets. Tickets are sold and many alumna and family members come together for not only a good time, but to raise money for a cause. The money raised goes back to buying school supplies that can be purchased for the students in late August before school goes back in session. Our sisters will be purchasing, packaging, and delivering all the school supplies to the school. Funds raised also go to support our Chapter Education Fund which is a scholarship that gives back to sisters.

OUR FALL 2024 IMPACT
In the fall of 2024 we created a new partnership with Timber Grove Elementary School. Our annual Founder’s Day 5k was hosted in celebration of 111 years of our sisterhood. At this event we raised $1,500 for TGES! This semester we packed teacher supply bags for every teacher at Timber Grove, donated $600 and supplies to their library department, and packed hygiene supply bags for the entire 5th grade class.
